April 22nd, 2010: Mortellan Madness is finally over Greyhawkers! (The contest not the general mortellan insanity) Anyhoo, without any further ado...

Yeah, yeah. Wee Jas won. Big surprise right? No. It was hardly anymore surprising than favorites in any contest like this. Wee Jas certainly got her just reward in the end and I think even Pholtus would be glad he didn't win that one. I think the tourney went well enough once I figured out all the bugs and stuff. I may try another one of these one of these days and with different contestants and categories. I'm leaning toward Wizards of Greyhawk. If anyone has any ideas or nominations, just let me know in advance. Now for a few annotations on the comic...

1. There is no 'Overgod' in the Greyhawk setting. A few deities might qualify for pantheon heads (like Lendor and Istus) but the concept in this context comes from the Forgotten Realms setting which DOES have an overgod named Ao.
2. Tharizdun sleeps eternally after he was ganged up on by ALL the other gods. That is the precedent for this effort to keep the troublesome Wee Jas happily asleep forever. In my opinion, Tharizdun probably dreams the Ravenloft setting into existence.
3. A popular discussion during Thursday night Greyhawk chat is who might be the Greyhawk God of Dreams and Sleep. We all agree Incabulos is the God of Nightmares, but this means he has to have a rival right? Gygax and co. never created a Good/Neutral version of Incabulos so speculation is high on which gods could fit the bill. If anyone has a clue on a candidate for this portfolio I'd love to hear about it.
4. Steaming Springs is one of the Greyhawk Domain's mining towns in the Cairn Hills. And apparently its also a resort-spa if Norebo has his way...
