Sept 13th, 2007: Yup I won't let it drop. This week's comic deals with a hot topic on the
Points of Light theme for 4th edition D&D.
The basic premise is isolated communities of 'light' are huddled in their villages seperated by the darkness of
dangerous wilderness and evil forces all around and it is the heroes alone who are brave enough to strike out
into the darkness. Fair enough. Some think this has always been the theme of D&D yet there is a case to be made
it isn't specifically a perfect fit for a Greyhawk campaign which has its own particular set of themes.
Even among the Forgotten Realm community there is now some concern that this Points of Light theme will force
their setting to change to fit their vision. It's still too early to tell, but at least the conversations are stimulating. Enjoy.
